Cobol Developer

As a part of a dynamic Information Technology team, you will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the company’s AS400 Application for the Life & Health insurance industry.

Your day-to-day:

• Liase with the Business Analysis Team and business users to design projects’ technical specifications
• Implement new functionalities and maintain company’s AS400 Application
• Perform unit testing and integration testing
• Prepare deliverables for the roll out to the production environment
• Support users in order to effectively use the application and troubleshooting production issues

What we are looking for:

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or relevant technology-related field
• Proven working experience and knowledge of IBM technologies for AS400 or z/OS or Power-I
• Experience in structured programming, C-like languages or COBOL
• Database concepts/design and familiarity/experience with SQL
• Experience to batch programming using JCL or CL languages
• Familiarity with analysis of business requirements, application design and programming
• Self-motivated and continuous learning mindset
• Displaying multi-tasking and problem solving abilities, by adopting a creative way of thinking
• Cooperating well and coordinating effectively across levels
• Prior experience in the insurance industry will be considered as an asset
